Short Description/Objective:

The aim of this Scheme is to provide grants for investments in fishing vessels to improve safety, health, hygiene, working conditions and energy efficiency, provided that these investments will not increase the fishing capacity of the vessels.

Expected Benefits/Outcomes:

The ability to invest in improving working conditions is imperative in order to address risks to life, health and hygiene, as well as to ensure the dignity of the profession and make work at sea more humane and more efficient, safeguarding at the same time jobs and the cultural fishing heritage.

In addition, investments to improve energy efficiency contribute to the goal of “A Greener and more Resilient Europe” and lead to a reduction in operating costs for fishers, contributing to the resilience and competitiveness of the fisheries sector.
