Welcome to the
Funds Portal
of the Directorate General Growth, Ministry of Finance
The portal presents the European Policies and European Funds that financially support Cyprus for the programming period 2021-2027, as well as the Programmes through which the funding is achieved. It deals with the funding that is available under the programme’s scheme of common management with the European Commission. For better communication purposes, the EU Recovery and Resilience Facility has been included, of which its resources will be allocated under the instant management programmes by the European Commission.
Based on the system of decentralised management of a big part of the budget, the European Commission through the various European Funds, it funds the Member States with resources that aim at supporting the implementation of Policies and priorities as itself states at a European level. In this context, in a 7-year-period, 2021-2027, it funds a huge range of activities, starting from the imbalance’s correction among countries and regions, the recovery of the economies from COVID-19 disease, the development of rural regions and the environment protection, the fishery and aquaculture development , the protection of external borders and the promotion of human rights.
These resources are utilised by the Member States through the training of multi-annual development programmes, by the local authorities that are accountable for the management of each Fund (Management Authorities). The Programmes preparation is completed based on strategic guidance and references of the EU, the priorities that each country defines and are approved by the European Commission. To continue, the Management Authorities, under the supervision of the European Commission, are responsible for the coordination of the involved bodies on a national level in order to complete effectively the aforementioned Programmes and projects.
The programming of the projects that will be utilised in the context of each Programme is achieved, based on the priorities of the Ministries and other bodies, taking into account:

The eligibility of the projects based on the relevant regulations of EU

The noted necessity for the projects based on the identified development priorities

The special references of the European Commission for Cyprus

The “maturity” of the projects

The value of the available resources
The projects that will be under community aid are selected after open calls for proposals, based on defined criteria of selection. The Beneficiaries may be business (mainly small and medium sized), public bodies, as well as organisations or individuals.
For transparency purposes, all the projects that are approved to receive the community aid are published on the relevant Programme website.
