European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD)
About the EAFRD
The European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) constitutes one of the funding instruments of Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) in Cyprus, along with the European Agricultural Guarantee Fund (EAGF).
EAFRD funds the Pillar II of the CAP that deals with the rural development interventions, as well it accompanies and compliments the income support policies of Pillar I of CAP.
Additionally, through EAFRD, a series of investment and hectare interventions are financed, aimed at the development of the primary production sector and the cypriot rural areas.
For the period 2023-2027, in order to support the rural development, it has been allocated to Cyprus by the EAFRD the amount of €118.9M.
The EAFRD funding will be utilised through the Strategic Plan of Common Agricultural Policy 2023-2027, whose Management Authority is the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment.
