About the ETC
European Territorial Cooperation (ETC) also known as Interreg, constitutes one of the objectives of Cohesion Policy and it aims at the promotion of the economic, social and territorial cohesion among the EU Member States, contributing in this way to a harmonic development across the EU.
It is co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and it supports the Cross-border, Transnational and Interregional Cooperation Programmes.
The ETC objective is the promotion of the cooperation without borders providing in this way the context of utilising common actions and exchange of policies among the international, regional and local bodies coming from the various EU Member States with the main goal the confrontation of common issues and challenges. Moreover, it also supports the cooperation of EU Member States with non-EU countries as well as with EU accession countries.

Funding Resources
For the participation in the cross-border and transnational dimension of ETC Programmes, Cyprus has received the amount of €37.2Mwhich has been allocated by the Cohesion Policy.
Moreover, Cyprus will participate in the Inter-regional Programmes URBACT, ESPON and Interreg Europe, for which there is not any Community headings per country, but per Programme.
