Cohesion Fund (CF)
About the CF
Cohesion Fund (CF) constitutes one of the funding instruments of Cohesion Policy in Cyprus, along with the European Development Regional Fund, European Social Fund+ and Just Transition Fund.
It provides support to the Member-States with Gross National Income (GNI) per capita below the average of 90% of EU-27, by funding the investments in the sector of environment (including the sectors of energy and climate change) and in Trans-European Networks in the sector of Transportation (TEN-T).
For the programming period 2021-2027, the Cohesion Fund supports the following EU Member States: Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Croatia, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia.

Funding Resources
The resources which have been allocated to Cyprus by the Cohesion Fund for the programming period 2021-2027, under the common management along with the European Commission, amount to €178.3M.*

- Reduction, separate collection and recycling of waste
- Site-restoration of uncontrollable waste disposal
- Protection and improvement of coastal zones by coastal erosion
- Development of Flood Decongestion Projects in high-risk flood regions
- Fire management and disaster risk projects

- Traffic management systems
Co-funded Programme
The CF resources will be utilised through the Programme “THALIA 2021-2027”, whose Management Authority is the Directorate General Growth, Ministry of Finance.
